St Lawrence Church
St Lawrence Church is located in the village of Bradfield, Essex, in the Tendring district, about 3 miles east of Manningtree. Because the area around the church is a designated conservation area, the church is not only a place of worship — it’s an important heritage landmark for the village.
St Lawrence is the oldest building in the parish. Parts of the structure date from the 12th century, though the building has undergone changes across the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. The nave and chancel are from the 13th century. The south porch was added in the 14th century, and the tower mostly dates from around 1500, during the 19th century the church was heavily restored.
