Notice of Public Consultation on Submission Version (Reg 19)

Tendring District Local Plan Review - Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004
Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012

Tendring District Council is carrying out a review of the Tendring District Local Plan to ensure it remains up to date, effective, and capable of guiding development in the District up to 2043.

The Council is now publishing the Tendring District Local Plan Review 2026-2043 and Beyond Submission Version September 2026 and associated Sustainability Appraisal and Habitats Regulations Assessment as part of the Regulation 19 stage of consultation. This marks the third and final formal opportunity for residents, businesses, community organisations, landowners, developers, and all other interested parties to comment on the plan. This consultation will focus on whether the Local Plan meets the tests of legal compliance and soundness. Comments on matters outside the scope of the examination may carry limited weight in the examination process. Only representations submitted during this Regulation 19 consultation period will be considered by the independent Inspector as part of the examination of the Local Plan.

The consultation runs for just over six weeks, fromMonday 7 September 2026 until 5pm on Monday 19 October 2026.
