Coronavirus (COVID-19) Community Support

During the current health crisis there will be a number of people in our community who may need help either due to their vulnerability or due to the practice of self-isolation. This will mean that they may not be able to gain access to shops, doctors or even just a friendly voice very easily.

We know that everyone in the village is concerned and Bradfield Parish Council, alongside St Lawrence and the Methodist Churches are organising a Bradfield support group.
This will take some time to implement, so we have also joined with the group organised by the Manningtree Shoutout Facebook page. They are working alongside Essex Coronavirus Action, Tendring District Council and Essex County Council as a support hub during the Covid-19 crisis. They will be there to support residents in Manningtree, Mistley, Lawford and Bradfield. They have a dedicated support telephone phone line 07724411021 for anyone in the area who is not online. The number will be manned between 9am and 5pm daily. The team of volunteers will be there to support you if you have no other source of help.

The volunteers, many of whom are DBS checked will:-

With your permission collect prescription medication and bring it to your door
Emergency shopping and delivery if you have no one else to do this for you
Provide online and telephone buddy support
If you would like to volunteer to help, please register on Essex County Council's site:-

If anyone requesting help would prefer to speak to someone from the village, we have set up an email address, , and telephone number, 01255 772402. Please only use the phone number if you cannot access the internet.

Please let's all pull together in these worrying times and try to help anyone in need. Remember to stay 2metres (6ft) away from others while you are out getting some much-needed fresh air or shopping. We hope you all stay healthy and we all get through this together. If anyone has any other suggestions that could help, please direct them to the email address in the first instance or the phone number quoted above.

Thank you all for your support.
